It doesn't matter if you’re a kid, or a kid at heart, sometimes getting dental work done can be a little scary. Are you a little nervous about your procedure? Don't worry! At Wave Dental, we have laughing gas (nitrous oxide) available in every office to help take the edge off and make getting your dental work completed a little easier. Breathing in this gas through a nose piece for just a few minutes before your procedure (for the freezing) or even throughout the entire procedure can help relax you enough to get through your whole appointment. Interested in this mild sedation option? Contact us today for more information.
Many kids (and adults) find visits to the dentist scary. We want to change that! That’s why Dr. Wong is pleased to offer oral sedation for kids right here in our Port Perry office, without the need for a referral to a specialist.
The sedation medication is delivered orally in our office, 30 minutes prior to their procedure. Once it starts to take effect, you will notice your child begin to relax and get sleepy, and that’s how we know it is time to start their procedure. Once in the chair, most kids fall asleep or tune out, all while their teeth are repaired.
The best part? The medication has an amnesia effect so no matter what happens, they won’t remember a thing. This service is available for children as young as two (older children and even adults can benefit from it too!)
Wondering if your child could benefit from treatment under oral sedation? Call our Port Perry office today to schedule your FREE consultation with Dr. Henry Wong.
Despite our best efforts, sometimes coming to the dentist is just too much for even the most together adult. We understand – and that’s why Dr. Wong offers oral sedation for adults (and kids) right here in our Port Perry office without the need for a referral.
The adult medication is a series of pills taken in our office, orally 30-45 minutes prior to a planned dental appointment. You will feel your whole body begin to relax once the medication starts to take effect, which will make getting the dental treatment you need much easier and more comfortable. In fact, most oral sedation patients fall asleep in the chair while receiving treatment!
The best part? Most patients don’t remember a thing after their treatment!

The bone that supports our teeth can deteriorate for a variety of reasons, but when it does, it can leave behind many issues including teeth that fall out, dentures that don’t fit properly and make dental implants impossible to place.
Thankfully, a simple bone grafting procedure (along with good oral hygiene) can eliminate most of the issues caused by deteriorating bone and can pave the way for future treatment (like a dental implant).
Is deteriorating bone preventing your next treatment? Contact our office to schedule your FREE consultation with Dr. Wong to find out how bone grafting treatment can get you back on track!
Periodontal disease, aggressive brushing and genetics can all lead to serious gum erosion leading to exposed roots, sensitivity, mobility and discolouration along the receding gum line. The good news is that a simple procedure known as a gingevectomy or gum graft can eliminate the effects of receding gums and prolong the life of your teeth.
Concerned about your receding gums? Contact our office today to schedule your complete exam with one of our dentists to learn how your smile can benefit from a gum graft. We promise, it’s not as scary as it sounds!
The dental ridge supports many of our facial features as well as provides the anchor for our top dentition. When it starts to deteriorate, as it can with age, injury or bone loss, a simple procedure called Ridge Augmentation or Preservation can help replace what’s missing or prevent further damage and allow for further dental treatment such as a better fitting denture, and implants bone growth.
Contact our office today to find out how you could benefit from a ridge augmentation or preservation procedure.
Our wisdom teeth tend to erupt in our late teens, but can continue erupting well into adult hood. In many cases, these third sets of molars do not erupt in the most ideal position which can cause major discomfort, infection and can even cause crowding and shifting of both upper and lower teeth. This is why many dentists will recommend removing the wisdom teeth before they have fully erupted (usually between 17-25 years of age)
Many years ago, the only way to get your wisdom teeth out was in the office with nothing but local freezing, or in a hospital while under general anesthetic. Well, no more! We are thrilled to offer wisdom tooth removals under IV sedation in our Port Perry office without the need for a referral.

We are THRILLED to be one of very few offices to offer advanced 3D CBCT imaging capabilities outside of Toronto! 3D X-rays can be used to diagnose and plan for a variety of different procedures including wisdom tooth extractions, orthodontic treatment and dental implants. We don’t just offer them to our patients; we also accept referrals from other offices. If you need a 3D x-ray or CBCT, contact our office to schedule your appointment.
